Overview
Elphinstone Reef is a legendary, cigar-shaped reef in the southern Red Sea. It is famous for thrilling drift dives along sheer vertical walls plunging into the depths. Covered in vibrant soft corals and gorgonian fans, it is a hotspot for pelagic action, including encounters with Oceanic Whitetips and Hammerhead sharks. Due to strong currents and deep plateaus, it is strictly for advanced divers. Northern plateau is ~80m long. Mantas and stingrays are often seen from July to October.
