Overview
Easy entrance via a sandy beach; shallow waters, perfect for training dives and night dives. This dive site is perfect for beginners that want to work on or refresh their skills.
Access: Aegiali bay is a shore dive accessible directly from the coastline of South Aegean. Divers enter the water from the rocky shore or beach.
Marine life: Documented marine species observed at Aegiali bay include common octopuses (Octopus vulgaris), common cuttlefish (Sepia officinalis).
Safety: Avoid during days with strong north winds as the shore is wavy and the visibility poor. Preferably wear diving boots as the sand becomes very hot during the summer months and to avoid stepping on marine life (sea urchins, weevers etc). Dives should be planned in accordance with local marine weather and surface swell conditions. Deploy a surface marker buoy when ascending in open water away from coastal rock formations.
