The USAT Liberty Wreck is Bali’s most famous dive site and one of the world’s most accessible wreck dives. Located just offshore from Tulamben on Bali’s northeast coast, this 120-meter World War II cargo ship rests between 5 and 30 meters deep, making it suitable for divers of all experience levels. Over the decades, the wreck has become encrusted with vibrant hard and soft corals, creating an artificial reef that attracts an incredible diversity of marine life. Divers can encounter schools of jacks, barracuda, bumphead parrotfish, turtles, reef fish, nudibranchs, and occasional reef sharks while exploring the wreck’s twisted structure and swim-throughs.
