Overview
Blue Cave is a scenic marine cavern located near Kokkino Chorio in Souda Bay, Chania. The cavern entrance begins in shallow water and opens into a spacious chamber with daylight reflections and underwater rock arches descending to 28 meters.
Access: By boat.
Marine life: Documented marine species observed at Blue cave include common octopuses (Octopus vulgaris), Mediterranean moray eels (Muraena helena), dusky groupers (Epinephelus marginatus).
Safety: Dives should be planned in accordance with local marine weather and surface swell conditions. Deploy a surface marker buoy when ascending in open water away from coastal rock formations.
