Overview

Red Slave is one of Bonaire’s most picturesque dive sites, located beside the island’s historic red slave huts and vast salt flats. Beneath the surface, divers find a healthy sloping reef covered in hard and soft corals, large barrel sponges, and abundant reef life. The site is known for its excellent visibility.

Access: Shore access

Marine life: Seahorses, southern stingrays, turtles, eagle rays, and tarpon.

Safety: Shore access can be difficult in surge or wavy conditions but this entry is easier than where the slave huts (most divers enter there). Be aware of the tide as this spot can have strong current during full and black moon.
