Overview
The Manta Station near Dhigurah in the Maldives is a shallow reef area where manta rays gather to get cleaned by small fish. It sits just 15 minutes away from the island. With depths ranging from 8 to 12 meters, it has calm currents that make it easy for beginners to explore. The area is an active "spa" for the ocean. Tiny fish, called cleaner wrasse, remove dead skin and parasites from the giant manta rays. The mantas swim in slow, graceful circles while this happens, allowing you to watch nearby.
