Overview

A significant thermal spring cave lake in Athens. It features a massive underwater cave system with warm, brackish water and excellent visibility. It is a premier destination for technical, cave, and CCR diving, with depths exceeding 100 meters inside the cave.

Access: Lake Vouliagmeni Cave is a shore dive accessible directly from the coastline of Regional Unit of East Attica, Attica. Divers enter the water from the rocky shore or beach.

Marine life: Documented marine species observed at Lake Vouliagmeni Cave include Mediterranean monk seals (Monachus monachus).

Safety: Lake Vouliagmeni Cave is an extreme overhead karst environment strictly reserved for certified Full Cave and Technical Trimix divers with official speleological permits. High water depth (up to 130m) and complex multi-branched conduits require specialized decompression and redundant gas protocols.
